New York

Baz Bagel and Restaurant

181 Grand Street, New York, NY 10013

Opened in 2014 by downtown legend Bari Musacchio, Baz is the quintessential New York bagel shop. With ten kinds of bagels made fresh throughout the day, eight types of cream cheese, and a variety of both in-house and premium sourced smoked fish; there are plenty of options to whet your appetite. Choose a toasted everything bagel with egg and cheese, with signature Baz Brew coffee, to eat on the go — or if you have a bit more time, sit in the cheery wall-papered space and indulge in their famous challah french toast.

West-Bourne

137 Sullivan Street, New York NY 10012

If you’re heading to shows at westside hub Spring Studios, visit West-Bourne en route. With the laidback vibe of a southern California cafe, this healthy spot has a plethora of quick grab-and-go options. Their chia pudding is topped with halva and herbs, and their signature egg sandwich ‘Sunrise Kingdom’ features spicy labneh. They have great cold brew, and later in the day a great selection of natural wines and snacks if you have a moment to rest and imbibe.

London

Flat White

17 Berwick Street, London W1F 0PT

This Soho stalwart claims to have brought the Flat White to London — true or not, theirs is damn good. They take their coffee quite seriously; however, that doesn’t mean the food is overlooked. The Aussie-inspired menu features perfectly executed classics such as avocado toast, and they have an in-house baker that makes their famous banana bread — perfect for eating while on the run.

26 Grains

1 Neal’s Yard, London WC2H 9DP

Nearby 180 The Strand — which is increasingly becoming more and more of a Fashion Week hub — is this tiny cafe located in picturesque Neal’s Yard. Featuring a delicious revolving menu of grains-focussed dishes, the health-conscious menu highlights breakfast classics, but with special touches — porridge with roasted peaches and pistachios, for example. Their savoury toasts are satisfying and perfect for eating on the run. If you have an extra moment though, grab an outdoor table and take in the pretty surroundings while enjoying a matcha latte.

Milan

Kate Away

Corso S. Gottardo, 29, 20136

This petite cafe has all the elements for a perfectly rejuvenating breakfast — expertly made espresso and a selection of sweet and savoury baked goods. The cosy space and friendly service make it an enjoyable place to sit if you have time, and the smell of baking lasagna will tempt you to return for lunch. A rarity in Italy, they have a selection of vegan items as well. Stick a fluffy, buttery brioche in your bag to snack on later.

Pavé Milano

s.r.l via Felice Casati 27, 20127

Not too far from Corso Venezia and many of the shows sits this incredible artisanal bakery. It is easy to be overwhelmed upon entering — marrying traditional baking techniques with new and fresh seasonal ingredients; everything on offer is truly spectacular. If you have a sweet tooth, try their Tonka Toast: toasted panettone with strawberry and mascarpone. Otherwise, each of their savory sandwich croissants is an excellent and satisfying choice.

Paris

Wild & The Moon

19 Place du Marché Saint-Honoré, 75001

Entirely plant-based, Wild & The Moon is the stylish choice for a nutritious breakfast on the run. A vast selection of cold-pressed juices is up for grabs in the cooler — throw a Keep It Clean in your bag for a pick me up later on. Their excellent selection of bowls features adaptogens and other ingredients guaranteed to give you a needed boost. They have many locations throughout the right bank, and also deliver in case you decide to have a lay-in before taking on the day.

Cafe Coutume

47 Rue de Babylone, 75007

Coffee is the highlight at this sunny cafe — they roast their own beans (and supply them to other cafes throughout the city). The menu is great too, though, with a trio of eggs benedict options if you’re able to dine in, or indulgent chocolate banana pancakes. Otherwise, grab their excellent yogurt parfait with house-made granola to eat while you’re on your way to a show.
